Wind is the real variable here. Afternoon onshore breezes come up fast along the bay, so for waterfront setups we recommend starting between 4 and 6 pm once the marine layer settles. Inland Long Beach around Bixby Knolls and California Heights is more sheltered and can be booked any time. Naples Island spaces are often narrow, so we ask for a photo of the setup area — it saves a lot of guessing.

Not if we plan for it. We bring wind screens and usually recommend a late-afternoon start along the bay. In five years of coastal events, wind has never stopped a dinner u2014 it just changes where we place the grill.
Do you set up on the sand at Alamitos Bay?
We grill on private property only. If your home or rental is beach-adjacent, a driveway, garage pad or patio gives us the flat surface we need and your guests still get the view.
