Almost always, yes. We have done plenty of terraced yards in the Verdugos. What we need is a clear path at least three feet wide and a level pad for the grill at the top. A quick photo of the route gets you a confirmation the same day.
How much space does the grill actually take?
Plan on a 10 x 10 ft working area: the teppan grill itself, a prep station, and room for your chef to move. Guest seating can wrap around three sides, which is exactly how a real teppanyaki table feels.
